Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds London broil beef
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

Instructions

Prepare the Marinade

  • In a bowl, mix soy sauce, olive oil, vinegar, lemon juice, garlic, brown sugar and spices until fully combined.

Marinate the Meat

  • Place beef in the marinade. Coat well on all sides. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours for best flavor.

Preheat the Grill

  • Heat your grill to high heat. Make sure grates are clean and lightly oiled to prevent sticking during cooking.

Remove from Marinade

  • Take beef out of marinade. Let excess liquid drip off. This helps get a better sear on the grill.

Grill the Meat

  • Place beef on hot grill. Cook for about 5-7 minutes per side for medium doneness with a nice char.

Check Temperature

  • Use a meat thermometer. For medium, internal temperature should reach about 135°F before resting.

Rest the Meat

  • Remove from grill and let it rest for 10 minutes. This keeps juices inside and improves tenderness.

Slice the Steak

  • Place steak on cutting board. Slice thinly against the grain. This makes each bite soft and easy to chew.

Serve Warm

  • Serve immediately while warm. Add extra herbs or a squeeze of lemon juice for fresh flavor.

Optional Garnish

  • Garnish with chopped parsley or drizzle olive oil lightly before serving for extra taste and presentation.

Notes

  • Marinate overnight for deeper flavor.
  • Use fresh herbs for better taste.
  • Add chili flakes for a spicy kick.
  • Do not overcook to avoid tough meat.
  • Always slice against the grain.
  • Use a cast iron pan if no grill is available.
  • Add butter on top before serving for richness.
