Ingredients
  

  • 1 medium cabbage chopped
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs optional

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven

  • Set oven to 350°F (175°C). This makes it ready to bake.

Chop the Cabbage

  • Cut cabbage into small pieces. Wash it well.

Boil the Cabbage

  • Boil a pot of water. Cook cabbage 5–7 minutes.

Drain the Cabbage

  • Put cabbage in a colander. Shake off extra water.

Make the Sauce

  • Melt butter in a pan. Stir in flour for 1 minute.

Add Milk

  • Slowly pour milk. Stir until thick and creamy.

Add Sour Cream

  • Mix sour cream in the sauce. Stir well.

Season the Sauce

  • Add garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Taste it.

Mix Cabbage and Sauce

  • Put cabbage in a bowl. Pour sauce on top. Stir well.

Add Cheese

  • Mix 3/4 cup cheese into cabbage. Save the rest for topping.

Prepare Baking Dish

  • Grease the dish with butter or spray.

Transfer Mixture

  • Pour cabbage mixture in dish. Smooth the top.

Add Topping

  • Sprinkle cheese and breadcrumbs on top.

Bake the Casserole

  • Bake 35–40 minutes until golden and bubbly.

Cool Slightly
