Ingredients
  

For the brownie layer:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 200 grams dark chocolate chopped
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

For the cheesecake layer:

  • 400 grams cream cheese softened
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup sour cream

Optional topping:

  • ½ cup chocolate ganache or chocolate chips
  • Fresh berries for garnish

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat oven to 175°C or 350°F. Grease and line the springform pan with parchment paper.

Melt Butter and Chocolate

  • In a saucepan over low heat, melt butter and dark chocolate together. Stir until smooth.

Mix Brownie Batter

  • Remove from heat. Add sugar, eggs and vanilla. Mix well until glossy. Fold in flour and salt gently.

Pour Brownie Layer

  • Pour brownie batter into the prepared pan. Smooth the surface with a spatula.

Prepare Cheesecake Layer

  • In a large bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Add sugar and mix until creamy.

Add Eggs and Flavor

  • Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla and sour cream. Mix gently until smooth and lump-free.

Pour Cheesecake Over Brownie

  • Carefully pour cheesecake batter over brownie layer. Spread evenly with spatula.

Bake the Cheesecake

  • Bake for 40–45 minutes. The cheesecake should be set but slightly jiggly in the center.

Cool the Cake

  • Turn off oven. Let the cake cool in the oven for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Chill Before Serving

  • Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight for best texture. This helps layers set fully.

Add Toppings

  • Drizzle chocolate ganache on top or sprinkle chocolate chips. Garnish with fresh berries if desired.

Notes

  • Use room temperature cream cheese for smooth cheesecake layer.
  • Do not overbake to keep brownie fudgy.
  • Swirl some peanut butter into the cheesecake for extra flavor.
  • Add a pinch of espresso powder in brownie for deeper chocolate taste.
  • Use dark chocolate ganache for rich topping.
