Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 bag frozen tater tots
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions
 

Preheat the oven

  • Heat oven to 375°F. Grease baking dish lightly with oil.

Cook the beef

  • Heat skillet. Add oil and ground beef. Cook until brown and fully cooked.

Add onion

  • Add chopped onion. Cook until soft and fragrant.

Season beef

  • Add garlic powder, salt and pepper. Stir well to combine.

Make sauce

  • Add cream soup and milk. Mix until smooth and creamy.

Layer casserole

  • Spread beef mixture in baking dish. Level evenly.

Add cheese

  • Sprinkle half of the cheese over beef layer evenly.

Add tater tots

  • Place frozen tater tots on top in neat rows.

Add more cheese

  • Sprinkle remaining cheese on top of tater tots.

Bake casserole

  • Bake for 35 minutes until cheese melts and tots turn golden.

Rest before serving

  • Remove from oven. Let sit five minutes before cutting.
