Instructions
 

Marinate the Chicken

  • Add chicken strips to a bowl. Mix cornflour, all-purpose flour, salt, pepper, ginger garlic paste, and soy sauce. Coat well and rest for ten minutes.

Heat Oil for Frying

  • Heat oil in a deep pan on medium heat. Make sure the oil is hot before adding chicken for even frying.

Fry the Chicken

  • Add chicken pieces slowly into hot oil. Fry until golden, crispy, and fully cooked. Remove and place on paper towels.

Prepare the Sauce Base

  • Heat two tablespoons oil in a wok. Add chopped garlic and dried red chilies. Stir fry until fragrant, not burnt.

Add Vegetables

  • Add onion petals and bell peppers to the wok. Stir fry on high heat for two minutes to keep them crunchy.

Make the Sauce

  • Add soy sauce, red chili sauce, ketchup, vinegar, salt, and pepper. Mix well and cook until sauce becomes glossy.

Toss the Chicken

  • Add fried chicken into the hot sauce. Toss quickly so every piece is well coated and stays crispy.

Garnish and Serve

  • Turn off heat. Add chopped spring onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot for best taste and texture.
