Ingredients
  

  • 4 –5 sheets matzo
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts optional

Instructions
 

Preheat Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F. Line a baking tray with parchment paper.

Arrange Matzo

  • Place matzo sheets in a single layer on the tray, covering the surface fully.

Make Toffee

  • In a saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar. Stir constantly until bubbly and smooth.

Pour Toffee

  • Pour hot toffee over matzo. Spread quickly to cover all pieces evenly.

Bake

  • Bake for 10–12 minutes until the toffee is bubbling and slightly darkened.

Add Chocolate

  • Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over hot toffee.

Spread Chocolate

  • Let chocolate melt, then spread evenly with a spatula.

Add Toppings

  • Sprinkle salt and chopped nuts on top if using.

Cool Completely

  • Let it cool at room temperature or refrigerate until firm.

Break and Serve

  • Break into pieces and serve.
