  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon rose water
  • 1 tablespoon orange blossom water
  • 2 tablespoons butter

For the Cream Layer

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 5 tablespoons cornstarch
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For Garnish

  • Chopped pistachios
  • Dried rose petals
  • Honey drizzle

Instructions

Prepare the Bread

  • Remove crusts from bread slices. Cut them into triangles or squares for easier layering inside the baking dish.

Toast the Bread

  • Melt butter in a skillet. Toast bread pieces until golden and crispy on both sides evenly.

Make the Syrup

  • Add sugar and water into a saucepan. Cook until golden caramel forms with rich sweet aroma.

Add Flavorings

  • Carefully add lemon juice, rose water and orange blossom water into the syrup mixture while stirring gently.

Soak the Bread

  • Place toasted bread inside the baking dish. Pour warm syrup evenly over all bread pieces carefully.

Make the Cream Mixture

  • Whisk milk, cream, cornstarch, sugar and vanilla together inside a large saucepan until completely smooth.

Cook the Cream

  • Cook the cream mixture over medium heat. Stir continuously until thick, creamy, and smooth without lumps forming.

Pour the Cream

  • Spread the warm cream mixture evenly over the soaked bread layer using a spatula for smooth finish.

Chill the Dessert

  • Place the dessert inside the refrigerator for at least four hours until fully chilled and set properly.

Add Garnishes

  • Top with pistachios, rose petals and honey drizzle before serving the dessert cold and creamy.

Notes

  • Use brioche bread for richer flavor.
  • Do not burn the caramel syrup.
  • Chill overnight for best texture.
  • Add whipped cream for extra richness.
  • Use almonds instead of pistachios.
  • Add cinnamon for warm flavor.
  • Serve in small dessert cups for parties.
  • Use coconut cream for unique taste.
  • Fresh rose petals make beautiful garnish.
  • Keep stirring cream to avoid lumps.
