  • Heavy cream
  • Garlic cloves
  • Onion

  • Red chili flakes
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Fresh basil or parsley
  • Reserved pasta water

Instructions
 

Boil the Pasta

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook until al dente. Reserve one cup pasta water. Drain the rest.

Prepare the Sun Dried Tomatoes

  • Chop sun dried tomatoes into small pieces. Set them aside so they are ready to use later.

Sauté the Onion

  • Heat olive oil and butter in a pan. Add chopped onion and cook until soft and translucent.

Add Garlic

  • Add minced garlic to the pan. Stir gently and cook until fragrant. Do not burn the garlic.

Add Sun Dried Tomatoes

  • Add chopped sun dried tomatoes to the pan. Stir well so flavors combine with onion and garlic.

Pour in the Cream

  • Lower the heat and slowly add heavy cream. Stir continuously to keep the sauce smooth.

Season the Sauce

  • Add Italian seasoning, salt, black pepper, and chili flakes. Stir gently and let the sauce simmer.

Add Parmesan Cheese

  • Add grated Parmesan cheese slowly. Stir until melted and the sauce becomes thick and creamy.

Combine Pasta and Sauce

  • Add cooked pasta to the sauce. Toss gently until pasta is fully coated.

Adjust with Pasta Water

  • Add reserved pasta water little by little. This helps loosen and bind the sauce nicely.

Finish with Herbs

  • Add fresh basil or parsley. Stir once more and turn off the heat.
