  • 1 cup cooking cream or heavy cream

  • ½ cup grated cheese cheddar or parmesan
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon chili flakes optional
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

These are the main Ingredients for Creamy Tuna Pasta, and most are already in your kitchen.

Instructions

Cook the Pasta

  • Boil water in a pot with salt. Add pasta and cook until tender. Drain the pasta and keep it aside.

Prepare the Pan

  • Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Make sure the oil spreads evenly before adding ingredients.

Cook the Onion

  • Add chopped onion to the pan. Cook slowly until soft and light golden. Stir often to avoid burning.

Add Garlic

  • Add minced garlic to the onion. Cook for thirty seconds until fragrant. Do not let it turn brown.

Add Tuna

  • Add drained tuna to the pan. Break it gently with a spoon. Cook for two minutes to warm through.

Pour in Cream

  • Lower the heat and add cream and milk. Stir slowly until the sauce looks smooth and creamy.

Season the Sauce

  • Add salt, black pepper, oregano, and chili flakes. Mix well and let the sauce simmer gently.

Add Cheese

  • Add grated cheese to the sauce. Stir until melted completely and the sauce becomes thick.

Combine Pasta

  • Add cooked pasta to the sauce. Toss gently so every piece gets coated with creamy sauce.

Final Touch

  • Cook for one more minute. Turn off heat and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Use pasta water if the sauce becomes too thick. It helps keep the sauce silky.
  • Choose tuna in oil for richer flavor or tuna in water for a lighter dish.
  • Add sweet corn or peas for extra color and nutrition.
  • Use mushrooms or spinach to make it more filling and healthy.
  • Replace cream with Greek yogurt for a lighter version.
  • Add lemon juice for a fresh and tangy taste.
  • Use whole wheat pasta for extra fiber.
