Ingredients
  

  • Boneless chicken thighs cut into cubes
  • Cornstarch
  • All-purpose flour
  • Egg
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Oil for frying
  • Soy sauce
  • Rice vinegar
  • Brown sugar
  • Gochujang or chili sauce optional heat
  • Garlic minced
  • Ginger minced
  • Sesame oil
  • Water
  • Cornstarch slurry
  • Sesame seeds
  • Spring onions sliced

Instructions
 

Marinate the Chicken

  • Add chicken, salt, pepper, egg, and a little soy sauce. Mix well and let it rest for ten minutes.

Coat the Chicken

  • Add cornstarch and flour to the chicken. Toss gently until every piece is fully coated and not sticky.

Heat the Oil

  • Place oil in a pan. Warm it on medium heat. Wait until the oil is hot enough for frying.

Fry the Chicken

  • Add chicken pieces to the pan. Fry until golden and crispy. Remove and place on paper towels.

Make the Sauce Base

  • Add garlic and ginger to a small pan. Cook gently until fragrant and light golden in color.

Mix the Sauce

  • Add soy sauce, vinegar, brown sugar, water, and sesame oil. Stir slowly and let the flavors blend well.

Thicken the Sauce

  • Add cornstarch slurry to the pan. Stir until the sauce becomes thick, smooth, and glossy.

Combine Chicken and Sauce

  • Add fried chicken into the sauce. Toss gently until every piece is coated with rich sauce.

Finish the Dish

  • Sprinkle sesame seeds and spring onions on top. Mix lightly and turn off the heat carefully.
