Ingredients
  

  • 2 blocks extra firm tofu
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • Green onions for garnish
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions
 

Press the Tofu

  • Wrap tofu in paper towels and place something heavy on top for 15 minutes.

Cut the Tofu

  • Cut tofu into bite-sized cubes.

Coat with Cornstarch

  • Place tofu cubes in a bowl and toss with cornstarch until evenly coated.

Cook the Tofu

  • Heat oil in a skillet and cook tofu until golden and crispy on all sides.

Make the Sauce

  • In a small bowl, mix honey, garlic, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil and water.

Cook the Sauce

  • Pour sauce into a pan and cook for 2 minutes until slightly thick.

Toss Tofu

  • Add crispy tofu to the sauce and toss gently until coated.

Garnish and Serve

  • Top with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

  • Use extra firm tofu only
  • Air fry tofu for less oil
  • Add broccoli or bell peppers
  • Use maple syrup instead of honey for vegan version
  • Do not overcrowd the pan
  • Serve immediately for best texture
  • Add sriracha for extra heat
