Ingredients
  

For the crust

  • 1 1/2 cups crushed biscuits
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons sugar

For the eggnog crème

  • 1 cup eggnog
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

For caramel shards

  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons water

Instructions
 

Prepare the Biscuit Crumbs

  • Put biscuits in a bag. Crush with rolling pin until fine crumbs form.

Mix Butter and Sugar

  • Add melted butter and sugar to crumbs. Mix until texture feels like wet sand.

Shape the Crust

  • Press mixture into tart pan. Cover bottom and sides evenly.

Chill the Crust

  • Place crust in fridge for 15 minutes to set properly.

Heat the Eggnog

  • Pour eggnog into saucepan. Warm on low heat. Do not boil.

Mix Cornstarch and Sugar

  • In bowl, mix sugar and cornstarch well until smooth.

Add Egg Yolks

  • Add egg yolks to bowl. Whisk until thick and creamy.

Combine with Eggnog

  • Slowly pour warm eggnog into egg mixture. Whisk constantly to avoid lumps.

Cook the Cream

  • Return mixture to saucepan. Cook on low heat until thick.

Add Flavor

  • Add vanilla and nutmeg. Stir well for warm holiday taste.

Cool the Cream

  • Remove from heat. Let cream cool for five minutes.

Fill the Tart

  • Pour cream into chilled crust. Smooth top with spatula.

Chill the Tart

  • Place tart in fridge for two hours until firm.

Spread Caramel
