Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • ¾ cup warm water
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese optional

Instructions

Mix the Dry Ingredients

  • Add flour, sugar, salt, and yeast to a bowl. Stir everything until well combined and smooth.

Add the Wet Ingredients

  • Pour warm water and olive oil into the bowl. Mix slowly until the dough begins forming well.

Knead the Dough

  • Knead the dough for eight minutes until soft. It should feel smooth and stretchy after kneading well.

Let the Dough Rise

  • Place the dough in a greased bowl. Cover and let it rise for forty minutes until doubled fully.

Shape the Breadsticks

  • Roll out the dough into a rectangle. Cut strips and shape each one into long breadsticks easily.

Prepare the Baking Tray

  • Place parchment paper on a tray. Arrange the breadsticks with space between them to rise again.

Let Them Rise Again

  • Cover the shaped breadsticks gently. Keep for fifteen minutes more until slightly puffy and light.

Make the Garlic Butter

  • Melt butter in a pan. Add garlic, parsley, oregano, and pepper. Stir until fragrant and well blended.

Brush the Breadsticks

  • Brush half of the garlic butter on top. Coat each breadstick lightly for amazing flavor and aroma.

Bake the Breadsticks

  • Bake at 375°F for fifteen minutes. Remove when the tops turn golden and the bottoms look firm.

Add the Final Butter

  • Brush the remaining garlic butter on warm breadsticks. Add Parmesan cheese if desired for extra taste.

Cool and Serve

  • Let the breadsticks cool for two minutes. Serve warm for the best soft and delicious bite.

Notes

  • Use warm water, not hot, to activate the yeast correctly.
  • Knead until smooth for the softest bread texture.
  • Add more garlic if you want a stronger flavor.
  • Brush extra butter for richer taste.
  • Add chili flakes for a spicy version.
  • Use fresh herbs if available for brighter flavor.
  • Add mozzarella inside for cheesy stuffed breadsticks.
