  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • 24 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 8 oz Godiva chocolate melted
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • Optional: chocolate ganache or chocolate shavings for topping

Instructions

Prepare the Crust

  • Mix chocolate cookie crumbs with melted butter. Press evenly into the bottom of the pan. Chill for 10 minutes.

Preheat Oven

  • Set the oven to 325°F (160°C). Grease the springform pan lightly with butter.

Melt the Chocolate

  • Melt Godiva chocolate in a heatproof bowl over simmering water. Stir until smooth and shiny.

Mix Cream Cheese

  • Beat softened cream cheese with sugar in a large bowl. Mix until fluffy and smooth.

Add Eggs Slowly

  • Add eggs one at a time. Mix gently after each to prevent air bubbles in the cheesecake.

Add Vanilla & Salt

  • Pour in vanilla extract and salt. Mix lightly to combine all flavors evenly.

Combine Chocolate

  • Gradually mix melted Godiva chocolate into the cream cheese mixture. Ensure the batter is smooth.

Pour Batter on Crust

  • Carefully pour chocolate cheesecake batter over chilled crust. Smooth the top with a spatula.

Bake Cheesecake

  • Place in oven and bake for 50 minutes. Center may jiggle slightly; this is normal.

Cool Slowly

  • Turn off the oven and leave cheesecake inside for 10 minutes. Then remove and cool at room temperature.

Chill Overnight

  • Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.

Prepare Ganache (Optional)

  • Heat heavy cream in saucepan until simmering. Pour over extra chocolate. Stir until smooth.

Decorate Cheesecake

  • Drizzle chocolate ganache over the top. Add chocolate shavings if desired for extra elegance.

Serve and Enjoy

  • Slice cheesecake carefully with a warm knife. Serve chilled for best taste.

Notes

  • Avoid Cracks: Bake in a water bath or add a pan of water in oven to prevent cracks.
  • Room Temperature Ingredients: Make sure cream cheese and eggs are at room temperature.
  • Chocolate Swirl: Add extra melted chocolate on top and swirl with a toothpick for a decorative touch.
  • Fruit Topping: Fresh strawberries or raspberries pair well with chocolate cheesecake.
  • Mini Cheesecakes: Use a muffin pan to make smaller individual cheesecakes.
