Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups milk of choice cow, almond, oat, or soy
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric or 1 ½ teaspoon fresh grated turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup adjust to taste
  • Pinch of ground nutmeg optional
  • Cinnamon stick or turmeric slice for garnish optional

Instructions
 

Heat the Milk

  • Pour milk into a small saucepan over low-medium heat. Warm gently, stirring occasionally.

Add Turmeric and Ginger

  • Whisk in turmeric and fresh grated ginger. Continue heating for one minute to release flavors.

Add Spices

  • Add ground cinnamon, black pepper and a pinch of nutmeg. Stir well to combine.

Simmer Gently

  • Reduce heat to low. Simmer for 5–7 minutes, whisking occasionally. Avoid boiling to keep milk smooth.

Sweeten the Drink

  • Remove from heat. Stir in honey or maple syrup to taste. Mix until fully combined.

Strain (Optional)

  • If using fresh grated ginger or turmeric, strain milk into mugs for a smoother texture.

Serve Hot

  • Pour golden milk into mugs. Garnish with a cinnamon stick or slice of turmeric for visual appeal.

  • Sip slowly while warm for maximum comfort and soothing effect.

Notes

  • Use unsweetened milk for a lower-calorie version.
