Ingredients
  

  • 12 ounces linguine
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 small onion finely diced
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 2 celery stalks finely chopped
  • 1 can 14 ounces crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley chopped
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Optional Garnish

  • Celery leaves
  • Lemon wedges
  • Extra Parmesan cheese
  • Crushed red pepper flakes

Instructions
 

Boil The Pasta

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the linguine until al dente.

Drain The Pasta

  • Reserve half a cup of pasta water, then drain the linguine.

Heat The Oil

  • Warm the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Cook The Vegetables

  • Sauté the onion and celery until softened, then add the garlic and cook for one minute.

Add Tomato Paste

  • Stir in the tomato paste and cook for two minutes to deepen its flavor.

Build The Sauce

  • Add crushed tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, smoked paprika, cayenne, oregano, salt and pepper.

Simmer

  • Cook the sauce for about ten minutes, stirring occasionally until slightly thickened.

Add The Linguine

  • Place the cooked linguine into the skillet with the sauce.

Toss Everything Together

  • Mix gently, adding reserved pasta water if needed to loosen the sauce.

Finish With Herbs

  • Stir in the fresh parsley and half of the Parmesan cheese.

Taste And Adjust

  • Taste the pasta and adjust the seasoning if needed.

Serve Immediately

  • Top with extra Parmesan cheese, celery leaves and lemon wedges before serving.
