Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 6 tablespoons beef drippings or vegetable oil

Instructions
 

Mix The Batter

  • Whisk together the flour and salt in a large mixing bowl.

Add The Eggs

  • Crack the eggs into the flour and whisk until smooth.

Pour In The Milk

  • Gradually whisk in the milk and water until the batter is silky.

Rest The Batter

  • Let the batter rest at room temperature for at least thirty minutes.

Preheat The Oven

  • Heat the oven to 425°F.

Heat The Oil

  • Add a small amount of beef drippings or oil into each muffin cup. Heat the pan in the oven until the oil is very hot.

Fill The Muffin Cups

  • Carefully remove the hot pan and quickly fill each cup halfway with batter.

Return To The Oven

  • Bake for twenty to twenty-five minutes without opening the oven door.

Remove Carefully
