These are the main Ingredients for Grilled Tuna Sandwich, easy to prepare and tasty.

Instructions

Prepare the Tuna Filling

  • In a mixing bowl, combine drained tuna, mayonnaise, mustard, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth and well combined.

Prepare the Vegetables

  • Wash lettuce leaves and slice tomatoes and onions thinly. Set aside for assembling the sandwiches.

Butter the Bread

  • Spread a thin layer of olive oil or butter on one side of each bread slice. This will create a golden crispy crust.

Assemble the Sandwich

  • Place tuna filling on the unbuttered side of two slices of bread. Top with lettuce, tomato, onion, and optional cheese.

Close the Sandwich

  • Place the remaining bread slices on top with the buttered side facing out. Press gently to hold everything together.

Preheat the Pan

  • Heat a grill pan or nonstick skillet over medium heat. Make sure it’s hot before placing the sandwiches.

Grill the Sandwich

  • Place the sandwiches in the pan. Cook for 3–4 minutes until golden brown. Press lightly with a spatula for even grilling.

Flip Carefully

  • Flip the sandwiches carefully using a spatula. Grill the other side for 3–4 minutes until golden brown and crispy.

Check the Filling

  • Open slightly to make sure tuna is warm and cheese (if used) is melted. Adjust heat if necessary.

Serve Immediately

  • Remove sandwiches from the pan. Cut in half and serve hot for best flavor and texture.
