Ingredients
  

  • 2 pounds beef stew meat
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 3 carrots sliced
  • 3 potatoes cubed
  • 2 celery stalks chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions
 

Brown the beef

  • Heat oil in a large pot. Brown beef on all sides for deep flavor.

Cook onions and garlic

  • Add onions and garlic to the pot. Cook until soft and fragrant.

Add flour

  • Sprinkle flour over the beef mixture. Stir well to help thicken the stew.

Pour broth

  • Add beef broth and diced tomatoes. Stir until everything is combined.

Add vegetables

  • Add carrots, potatoes and celery to the pot.

Season the stew

  • Add salt, pepper, thyme and Worcestershire sauce.

Simmer slowly
