Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken wings
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1/2 cup hot sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Season the wings

  • Sprinkle salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder over the wings. Mix well to coat every piece evenly.

Bake or fry the wings

  • Bake wings at high heat or deep fry them until crispy and cooked fully. Make sure they turn golden brown.

Make the Daytona sauce

  • Combine BBQ sauce, hot sauce, honey, butter, Worcestershire, paprika, and brown sugar in a saucepan. Heat until smooth.

Toss wings in sauce

  • Place cooked wings in a bowl. Pour warm Daytona sauce on top. Toss until each wing is fully covered in sauce.

Grill or broil the wings

  • Place sauced wings under the broiler or on a grill. Cook until the glaze becomes sticky and slightly caramelized.

Brush with extra sauce

  • Brush wings with more Daytona sauce for shiny and bold flavor. Make sure the glaze sticks well.

Rest before serving

  • Let the wings rest for a few minutes before serving. This helps the sauce set and taste even better.

Notes

  • Make them spicier. Add cayenne or extra hot sauce for a hotter kick.
  • Try baking only. If you don’t want to fry, bake until crispy, then broil.
  • Use different BBQ sauces. Smoky, sweet, or spicy BBQ sauce can change the flavor nicely.
  • Add fresh lime. A squeeze of lime adds brightness and cuts the sweetness.
  • Make them extra sticky. Let the sauce simmer longer for a thicker glaze.
  • Try boneless wings. Use chicken chunks and cook the same way for a fun twist.
