Prepare the Surface

  • Grease a baking sheet with butter. Set it aside near your stove for quick use.

Combine Ingredients

  • In a heavy saucepan, add sugar, cream, corn syrup and salt. Stir gently to combine well.

Start Cooking

  • Place pan over medium heat. Stir slowly until sugar dissolves completely.

Attach Thermometer

  • Attach candy thermometer to side of pan. Make sure tip does not touch bottom.

Cook to Temperature

  • Cook mixture without stirring until it reaches 260°F or 127°C. This is hard-ball stage.

Remove from Heat

  • Take saucepan off heat immediately. Stir in vanilla extract carefully and gently.

Pour the Candy

  • Pour hot mixture onto greased baking sheet. Let it cool slightly until safe to touch.

Begin Pulling

  • Butter your hands lightly. Start pulling candy by stretching and folding repeatedly.

Continue Pulling

  • Keep pulling candy for about ten minutes. It will turn lighter and creamy.

Shape the Candy

  • Roll pulled candy into long ropes. Cut into small bite-sized pieces using scissors.

Let It Set

  • Allow pieces to rest at room temperature until firm and fully set.

Store Properly

  • Place candy pieces in airtight container. Separate layers with wax paper.
