Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry thawed
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 12 wooden skewers
  • Powdered sugar for topping optional

Instructions

Prepare the Puff Pastry

  • Place puff pastry on a board. Let it soften for a few minutes until easy to handle.

Brush with Butter

  • Spread melted butter over the whole sheet. Cover the surface lightly but evenly.

Mix Cinnamon Sugar

  • Combine sugar and cinnamon in a bowl. Stir until well mixed and even.

Sprinkle the Mixture

  • Dust the cinnamon sugar mix all over the buttered pastry. Cover the sheet fully.

Cut Long Strips

  • Use a knife or cutter. Slice long even strips from the pastry sheet.
  • Twist the Strips
  • Hold each strip and twist carefully. Create a tree-like spiral shape.

Add the Skewers

  • Push a wooden skewer through each twisted strip. Make sure it stays firm.

Place on Baking Sheet

  • Lay all trees on a parchment-lined tray. Leave some space between them.

Preheat the Oven

  • Heat oven to 375°F. Allow it to fully preheat before baking.

Bake Until Golden

  • Bake trees for 12–15 minutes. Remove once golden, flaky, and puffed.

Cool on Rack

  • Move baked trees to a cooling rack. Let them cool a few minutes.

Add Optional Topping

  • Dust with powdered sugar. Add a sweet and snowy holiday effect.

Notes

  • Use chilled puff pastry for the best flaky layers. Warm pastry becomes sticky and hard to shape.
  • If you want extra sweetness, drizzle the baked trees with a thin icing glaze.
  • Add sprinkles before baking for a fun Christmas look.
  • Spread Nutella or chocolate instead of butter for a chocolate-flavored version.
  • Add a little vanilla sugar for a stronger aroma.
  • Use green food coloring on the butter to make the trees look more festive.
  • Serve them warm for the best texture and flavor.
  • Kids can help twist the pastry strips. It makes a fun family activity.
