Ingredients

  • 250 grams egg noodles or spaghetti
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger minced
  • 1/3 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili flakes
  • 4 green onions sliced
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt if needed

Instructions
 

Boil the Noodles

  • Fill a pot with water. Add salt. Boil noodles until just tender. Drain well. Set aside.

Prepare the Sauce

  • Mix soy sauce, brown sugar, beef broth, pepper, and chili flakes in a bowl. Stir until combined.

Heat the Pan

  • Place a large skillet on medium heat. Add vegetable oil. Let it heat until shimmering.

Cook the Beef

  • Add ground beef to the pan. Break it apart. Cook until brown and fully cooked.

Add Garlic and Ginger

  • Add minced garlic and ginger to beef. Stir for one minute until fragrant.

Pour in the Sauce

  • Pour prepared sauce into the skillet. Stir well. Let it simmer gently.

Thicken the Sauce

  • Mix cornstarch with water. Pour into skillet. Stir until sauce thickens slightly.

Add the Noodles

  • Add cooked noodles to the pan. Toss gently until noodles are coated evenly.

Finish with Sesame Oil

  • Drizzle sesame oil over noodles. Stir gently. Taste and adjust salt if needed.

Garnish and Serve
