  • 1 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce or crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil for topping
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions
 

Prepare the yeast mixture

  • In a bowl, combine warm water and yeast. Let it sit for five minutes until slightly foamy and activated.

Make the dough

  • Add flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture. Mix until a soft dough forms.

Knead the dough

  • Place dough on a floured surface. Knead gently for about eight minutes until smooth and elastic.

Let the dough rest

  • Place dough in a bowl. Cover and let it rest for thirty minutes until slightly puffed.

Preheat the oven

  • Set oven to 450°F (230°C). Place a baking tray inside so it heats well for a crisp crust.

Shape the dough

  • Stretch dough into a rectangular shape. Place it on parchment paper to prepare for topping.

Add the sauce

  • Spread pizza sauce evenly over the dough. Leave small edges for the crust.

Add cheese and seasoning
