Ingredients
  

For the Cake

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3 large eggs
  • cups vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups peeled and chopped fresh apples
  • 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts

For the Glaze

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup butter
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven

  • Set your oven to 325°F. Grease your baking pan well.

Prepare the Apples

  • Peel and chop fresh apples into small chunks.

Mix Dry Ingredients

  • In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking soda, salt and cinnamon.

Mix Wet Ingredients

  • In another bowl, whisk eggs, oil and vanilla extract.

Combine the Batter

  • Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients. Mix until combined.

Add Apples and Nuts

  • Fold chopped apples and nuts into the batter gently.

Pour into Pan

  • Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.

Make the Glaze

  • In a saucepan, heat brown sugar, butter and milk until smooth.

Add Vanilla
