Ingredients

  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound ground sausage
  • 1 cup chopped onions
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 4 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

Boil the Noodles

  • Boil lasagna noodles in salted water until soft. Drain and set aside. Add a little oil to prevent sticking.

Cook the Meat

  • Heat olive oil in a pan. Add onions and garlic. Cook until soft. Add beef and sausage. Cook until browned fully.

Add the Sauce

  • Pour marinara sauce into cooked meat. Mix well. Add salt, pepper and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 15 minutes.

Prepare Cheese Mixture

  • In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, eggs and half of parmesan cheese. Stir until smooth and creamy texture forms.

Preheat the Oven

  • Set your oven to 180°C (350°F). Let it heat while you prepare the lasagna layers.

Start Layering

  • Spread some meat sauce on the bottom of the baking dish. Add noodles. Then spread ricotta mixture evenly on top.

Add Cheese and Sauce

  • Add mozzarella cheese layer. Then spread more meat sauce. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used properly.

Finish the Top Layer

  • Top with remaining mozzarella and parmesan cheese. This will give a golden and cheesy crust after baking.

Bake the Lasagna

  • Cover with foil and bake for 40 minutes. Remove foil and bake 15 minutes more until cheese is bubbly.

Rest Before Serving

  • Let the lasagna rest for 10 minutes before cutting. This helps layers stay firm and easy to serve.

Notes

  • Use a mix of beef, sausage, and ground turkey for different flavors
  • Add chopped spinach for a healthier version
  • Use fresh herbs for better taste
  • Do not overcook noodles
  • Let lasagna rest before slicing
  • Add red chili flakes for a spicy version
  • Use cottage cheese instead of ricotta if needed
