Ingredients

  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup butter melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika optional

Instructions

Cook the Pasta

  • Boil water in a large pot. Add macaroni and cook until slightly firm. Drain and set aside. Do not overcook.

Preheat the Oven

  • Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease your baking dish with butter or oil to prevent sticking.

Mix Wet Ingredients

  • In a large bowl, whisk eggs, milk, melted butter, salt and pepper. Mix well until smooth and creamy.

Add Cheese

  • Add cheddar, mozzarella and parmesan cheese into the mixture. Stir gently so everything combines evenly.

Combine Pasta

  • Add cooked macaroni into the cheese mixture. Mix carefully so every piece of pasta gets coated nicely.

Transfer to Baking Dish

  • Pour the mixture into the greased baking dish. Spread evenly using a spoon or spatula.

Add Extra Cheese on Top

  • Sprinkle some extra cheddar cheese on top. This creates a golden, cheesy crust after baking.

Bake the Casserole

  • Place the dish in the oven. Bake for 30–35 minutes until the top is golden and the center is set.

Cool Before Serving

  • Remove from oven and let it rest for 5–10 minutes. This helps the casserole set properly.

Serve and Enjoy

  • Serve warm and enjoy your homemade Paula Deen mac and cheese casserole recipe with family or friends.

Notes

  • Use sharp cheddar for stronger flavor
  • Add cream cheese for extra creaminess
  • Mix in cooked bacon for a smoky taste

  • Do not skip resting time after baking
  • Add a pinch of garlic powder for extra flavor
  • Use whole milk for richer texture
