Ingredients
  

  • 500 g ground beef or lamb
  • 4 medium potatoes peeled
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables peas, carrots, corn
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese optional

Instructions
 

Boil the Potatoes

  • Place peeled potatoes in a pot. Add water and salt. Boil until soft. Drain and mash until smooth and creamy.

Make Creamy Mash

  • Add butter and milk to mashed potatoes. Mix well until soft and fluffy. Set aside for later use.

Cook the Meat

  • Heat a skillet on medium heat. Add ground meat. Cook until browned fully. Break it into small pieces while cooking.

Add Onion and Garlic

  • Add chopped onion and garlic to the meat. Cook until soft and fragrant. Stir well for even cooking.

Add Vegetables

  • Mix in peas, carrots, and corn. Cook for 3–4 minutes. This adds color and texture to the filling.

Make the Gravy

  • Sprinkle flour over the mixture. Stir well. Slowly add beef broth. Cook until thick and smooth.

Season the Filling

  • Add salt, pepper, and paprika. Mix well. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed for better flavor.

Assemble the Dish

  • Pour meat mixture into a baking dish. Spread evenly. Make sure the layer is smooth and well distributed.

Add Potato Layer

  • Spread mashed potatoes on top. Cover the meat completely. Smooth the surface with a spoon.

Add Cheese and Bake

  • Sprinkle cheese on top if using. Bake at 180°C for 25 minutes until golden and bubbling.
