Ingredients
  

  • 3 ripe bananas mashed
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup butter softened
  • 2 eggs room temperature
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup milk
  • Optional: chopped walnuts or chocolate chips for extra flavor

Instructions
 

Preheat the oven

  • Set the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease your cake pan with butter or oil.

Mash the bananas

  • Peel and mash bananas in a bowl until smooth with small lumps.

Cream butter and sugar

  • In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Add eggs

  • Beat in eggs one at a time. Mix well after each egg is added.

Mix in vanilla

  • Add vanilla extract. Stir to combine evenly with the butter mixture.

Combine dry ingredients

  • In another bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Add dry to wet

  • Gradually add flour mixture to the wet ingredients. Stir gently to combine.

Add milk

  • Pour milk into the batter. Mix until smooth, but do not overmix.

Fold in bananas

  • Add mashed bananas. Fold carefully with a spatula until just combined.

Add optional nuts

  • If using, fold in walnuts or chocolate chips for extra flavor.

Pour into pan

  • Transfer batter into the greased cake pan. Smooth the top with a spatula.

Bake the cake

  • Place in preheated oven. Bake for 35–40 minutes until golden brown.

Check with toothpick

  • Insert a toothpick in the center. It should come out clean.

Cool the cake

  • Remove from oven. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes.

Transfer to rack

  • Remove cake from pan. Place on a cooling rack until fully cooled.

  • Use very ripe bananas for natural sweetness.
