Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets about 6 oz each
  • 1 lb fresh asparagus trimmed
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a sheet pan with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Prepare the Asparagus

  • Trim the tough ends off asparagus. Place them on the sheet pan and drizzle with olive oil, salt and pepper.

Arrange Salmon

  • Place salmon fillets on the sheet pan next to asparagus. Season with salt and black pepper lightly.

Make Honey Garlic Sauce

  • In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic and lemon juice until smooth.

Brush Sauce on Salmon

  • Brush half of the sauce over salmon fillets. Reserve the rest for later baking.

Roast in Oven

  • Place the sheet pan in the oven. Roast for 8 minutes to start cooking salmon and asparagus.

Add Remaining Sauce

  • After 8 minutes, brush the remaining sauce over salmon and asparagus. Continue roasting for 7 more minutes.

Check for Doneness

  • Salmon should flake easily with a fork. Asparagus should be tender but still crisp. Roast a few more minutes if needed.

Serve Immediately

  • Transfer salmon and asparagus to plates. Drizzle any pan juices over the top for extra flavor.

Garnish and Enjoy

  • Serve with lemon wedges. Optional: sprinkle with chopped parsley or sesame seeds for garnish.

Notes

  • Cut asparagus uniformly to ensure even cooking.
  • Use fresh garlic for best flavor; garlic powder is less aromatic.
  • Add cherry tomatoes or bell peppers for more color.
  • Swap honey with maple syrup for a vegan version using tofu instead of salmon.
  • Serve with cooked rice, quinoa, or roasted potatoes to make it a complete meal.
  • Marinate salmon in the honey garlic sauce for 15 minutes before cooking for deeper flavor.
