  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

Prepare the Ribs

  • Remove thin membrane from back of ribs. Pat ribs dry with paper towel.

Mix the Spice Rub

  • In small bowl, mix brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and black pepper.

Season the Ribs

  • Rub olive oil over ribs. Coat both sides with spice mixture evenly.

Place in Slow Cooker

  • Cut ribs into smaller pieces if needed. Place them inside slow cooker.

Add BBQ Sauce

  • Pour half of the BBQ sauce over ribs. Spread evenly using spoon.

Cook on Low

  • Cover and cook on low for 6 to 7 hours until ribs are very tender.

Prepare for Glazing

  • Carefully remove ribs from slow cooker using tongs. Place on foil-lined baking tray.

Add Extra Sauce

  • Brush remaining BBQ sauce over ribs. Make sure all sides are coated well.

Broil for Finish

  • Place tray under oven broiler for 3 to 5 minutes until sauce becomes sticky and glossy.

Rest and Serve

Notes

  • Use homemade BBQ sauce for fresh flavor.
  • Add chili powder for spicy ribs.
  • Cook on high for 4 hours if short on time.
