Ingredients

  • 12 oz spaghetti
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup onion chopped
  • 2 cups pasta sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1 bag frozen tater tots

Instructions

Cook the Spaghetti

  • Boil water in a pot. Add the spaghetti and cook until soft. Drain the water and set the pasta aside.

Cook the Ground Beef

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until brown and crumbly.

Add the Onion

  • Add chopped onions to the beef. Cook until the onions turn soft and lightly golden.

Add the Sauce

  • Pour the pasta sauce into the skillet. Mix well and let the mixture cook for a few minutes.

Season the Mixture

  • Add garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir everything until the flavor mixes well.

Add the Milk

  • Pour milk into the mixture. Stir slowly until the sauce becomes creamy and smooth.

Combine with Spaghetti

  • Place the cooked spaghetti in a mixing bowl. Pour the meat sauce over the pasta and mix gently.

Add Cheese

  • Sprinkle half of the cheddar and mozzarella cheese into the pasta mixture and stir well.

Transfer to Baking Dish

  • Grease a 9×13 baking dish. Spread the spaghetti mixture evenly inside the dish.

Add Tater Tots

  • Place frozen tater tots on top of the spaghetti mixture. Arrange them in neat rows for a nice look.

Add More Cheese

  • Sprinkle the rest of the cheese over the tater tots to make the top extra cheesy.

Bake the Casserole

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F. Bake for 30 minutes or until the tater tots turn golden and crispy.

Cool the Dish

  • Remove the casserole from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.

Serve Warm

  • Cut into squares and serve while warm. Enjoy the crispy top and cheesy center.

Notes

• You can replace ground beef with ground chicken or turkey for a lighter dish.
• Add vegetables like bell peppers, corn, or spinach for extra nutrients.
• Use spicy cheese or add chili flakes if you like bold flavors.
• Try Alfredo sauce instead of red sauce for a creamy casserole version.
• You can add pepperoni slices to give it a pizza-like taste.
