  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil optional
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish optional
  • Lime wedges for serving optional

Instructions
 

Rinse the Rice

  • Wash rice with clean water. Rinse until water runs clear. This removes extra starch.

Add Liquids

  • Add coconut milk and water to the pot. Mix gently to combine well.

Add Seasoning

  • Add sugar and salt. Stir slowly until fully mixed.

Add Rice

  • Add rinsed rice to the pot. Stir once gently.

Start Cooking

  • Place pot on medium heat. Bring mixture to a gentle boil.

Cover the Pot

  • Reduce heat to low. Cover the pot with lid tightly.

Let It Cook

  • Cook for 15 minutes. Do not open the lid during cooking.

Turn Off Heat

  • Turn off the stove. Let rice rest for five minutes.

Fluff the Rice

  • Use a fork to fluff rice gently. Separate the grains slowly.

Add Coconut Oil

  • Add coconut oil if using. Mix lightly for extra flavor.

Garnish

  • Top with fresh cilantro if desired.

Serve Warm
