Ingredients
  

  • 12 lasagne noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound Italian sausage
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 4 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions
 

Cook the Lasagne Noodles

  • Boil lasagne noodles according to package instructions. Drain well and place them flat to prevent sticking together.

Cook the Meat

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet. Add beef and sausage. Cook until browned and fully cooked completely.

Add Onion and Garlic

  • Stir onion and garlic into the meat mixture. Cook until onions become soft and fragrant nicely.

Make the Meat Sauce

  • Add marinara sauce, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper. Simmer gently for fifteen minutes while stirring occasionally.

Prepare Cheese Mixture

  • Combine ricotta cheese, eggs, parsley and half parmesan cheese in a bowl. Mix until smooth and creamy.

Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease a baking dish lightly with oil or cooking spray before layering ingredients.

Add First Sauce Layer

  • Spread a thin layer of meat sauce across the bottom of the baking dish evenly and carefully.

Add Noodles

  • Place lasagne noodles over the sauce layer. Cover the bottom completely without leaving large empty spaces visible.

Add Cheese Layer

  • Spread ricotta mixture over the noodles evenly. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese generously across the entire layer carefully.

Repeat the Layers

  • Repeat sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture and mozzarella layers until all ingredients are fully used evenly throughout.

Add Final Topping

  • Top the final layer with remaining mozzarella cheese and parmesan cheese for golden cheesy baked perfection.

Cover and Bake

  • Cover baking dish with foil carefully. Bake for thirty-five minutes until hot and bubbling around the edges.

Remove Foil

  • Take foil off the baking dish. Bake another fifteen minutes until cheese becomes golden and slightly crispy.

Let It Rest

  • Remove lasagne from oven carefully. Let it rest ten minutes before slicing and serving warm for cleaner pieces.
