For the Sauce:

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce optional
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

Prepare the Steak Marinade

  • Mix olive oil, soy sauce, garlic powder, paprika, salt, pepper, and lime juice in a bowl until smooth.

Coat the Steak Well

  • Rub the marinade over the steak. Make sure every part is coated evenly for good flavor.

Let the Steak Rest

  • Place the steak in the fridge for 15 minutes. This helps the meat soak up the seasoning.

Heat the Pan

  • Place a grill pan on medium heat. Allow it to get hot before cooking the steak.

Cook the Steak

  • Add the steak to the hot pan. Cook each side for four to five minutes until browned.

Remove and Rest

  • Take the steak off the pan. Let it rest for five minutes before slicing.

Slice the Steak

  • Cut the steak into thin strips. Slice against the grain to keep it soft.

Prepare the Rice

  • Cook rice in a pot or cooker. Make sure it is fluffy and warm before serving.

Warm the Beans

  • Heat black beans in a small pan. Warm them gently for better taste.

Prepare the Corn

  • Warm the corn in a pan. Season lightly with salt if needed.

Chop the Vegetables

  • Cut tomatoes, lettuce, and cilantro. Keep all veggies fresh and ready.

Mix the Sauce

  • Whisk sour cream, lime juice, garlic powder, and hot sauce until smooth.

Build the Base

  • Add a large scoop of rice to each serving bowl.

Add Beans and Corn

  • Spoon warm beans and corn over the rice. Spread them evenly.

Add Fresh Veggies

  • Place lettuce, tomatoes, and avocado slices on top of the rice mixture.

Add the Steak

  • Place sliced steak over the bowl. Make sure each bowl gets enough meat.

Add Cheese

  • Sprinkle shredded cheese over the warm ingredients so it melts slightly.

Drizzle the Sauce

  • Pour the creamy sauce over the top of each bowl. Add extra if you enjoy strong flavors.

Add Cilantro

  • Sprinkle fresh cilantro on top. It adds color and a fresh taste.

Serve and Enjoy

  • Serve the bowls warm. Enjoy a fresh, tasty, and healthy meal at home.

Notes

  • Use leftover steak. This recipe works well with leftover grilled steak.
  • Try brown rice. It adds more fiber and makes the bowl healthier.
  • Add crunch. Tortilla strips or crushed chips add a fun crunchy texture.
  • Make it spicy. Add jalapeños, spicy salsa, or extra hot sauce.
  • Use chicken or shrimp. This recipe tastes great with other proteins too.
  • Meal prep friendly. Store ingredients separately and build fresh bowls daily.
