Ingredients
  

  • 500 g ground beef
  • 2 large onions very thinly sliced
  • Salt and black pepper
  • 4 burger buns
  • 4 slices American cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions
 

Prepare onions

  • Slice onions very thin so they cook quickly and evenly on the burger.

Divide beef

  • Divide ground beef into equal balls. Do not overwork the meat.

Heat pan

  • Heat a cast iron skillet on high until very hot.

Add beef balls

  • Place beef balls on the hot pan with enough space between them.

Smash the patties

  • Place onions on top and press down firmly with a spatula to flatten.

Season well

  • Add salt and pepper on top while cooking.

Cook first side
