Ingredients
  

For the Cake

  • 1 box white cake mix
  • 1 box strawberry gelatin
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup mashed fresh strawberries

For the Frosting

  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • 1 package cream cheese softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup mashed strawberries
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
 

Preheat oven

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease two cake pans.

Mix cake batter

  • Combine cake mix, gelatin, oil, eggs, milk and strawberries until smooth.

Pour batter

  • Divide batter evenly between prepared pans.

Bake the cake

  • Bake for 28–30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.

Cool completely

  • Let cakes cool in pans before moving to a rack.

Make frosting

  • Beat butter, cream cheese, powdered sugar, strawberries and vanilla until fluffy.

Frost the cake

  • Spread frosting between cake layers and over the top.

Serve
