Ingredients

  • 1 kg pork ribs
  • 1/2 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger grated
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon chili flakes optional
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

Prepare the ribs

  • Wash ribs and pat dry. Remove membrane from back. Season with salt and pepper for better flavor.

Make the marinade

  • In a bowl, mix sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, honey, garlic, ginger and lime juice until well combined.

Marinate the ribs

  • Coat ribs with marinade evenly. Cover and refrigerate for at least two hours or overnight for best flavor.

Preheat the oven

  • Set oven to 160°C. Line a baking tray with foil. Place marinated ribs on the tray carefully.

Bake the ribs

  • Cover ribs with foil and bake for one hour. This helps make them tender and juicy.

Prepare glaze

  • Pour remaining marinade into a saucepan. Cook on low heat until slightly thickened to use as glaze.

Glaze and bake again

  • Remove foil and brush ribs with glaze. Bake uncovered for 20–30 minutes until sticky and caramelized.

Rest and serve

  • Let ribs rest for five minutes. Slice and serve warm with extra glaze on top for more flavor.

Notes

  • Use baby back ribs for tender meat.
  • Grill ribs for smoky flavor.
  • Add fish sauce for deeper taste.
  • Adjust chili for spice level.
  • Use brown sugar instead of honey.
  • Add sesame seeds for garnish.
  • Do not skip resting time before serving.
